What does it mean to be saved?

The word saved can have varied meanings.  Rescue, salvage, deliver, extricate, free, release, liberate, emancipate, ransom.  See what we mean...

In the church world the word saved means all of those, but also means to have a personal relationship with Christ.  He knows us personally, one on one, and we in turn know him.  A personal contact so to speak when petitioning the Father, (God) in our time of prayer and praise.

John 14:6    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

Jesus came to this earth as a man.  He didn't have to, he chose to.  He chose to come, to lay down his life on the cross of calvary.  He put aside his royal position to walk among us, to be with us.  He came to resue us from the path the world was and is taking.  To free us from the bondage that had been placed upon us by the evil in the world.  He paid the ransom for us by dying on the cross, but that was not the end.  You see, Jesus, arose from the grave.  A living, breathing being!   Once again he walked and talked!  Can you tell of any other man who has done such as this?  Can you tell of any other "prophet" or religious leader who did such as this?  But wait, there is still more!  Not only did he rise from the grave, but he ascended into the heavens with a promise, that HE WOULD COME BACK FOR US!   He is coming back, and when He comes He will come for us to take us who have a personal relationship, those who are saved, to live in the New Heaven and the New Earth with Him.  Once again, man shall be able to have a presence with God, but the only way is the salvation of man given by Jesus.  With out that salvation by Jesus being accepted, you will remain here in the folly of those remaining and in their destiny.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

The hard part is over.  Jesus did that one for us on the cross!  It is very simple actually and here it is,

Rom 10:9-13

9    That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11    For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12    For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13    For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (KJV)

When you confess something, you speak the truth.  So many times man has been guilty of speaking things from the mouth that are not true statements and it gets them deeper and deeper into situations.  When we speak the truth however, the path seems to be brighter, not always easier mind you, but brighter.  We can walk with more assurance in the direction life carries us.  When we know something to be true, our hearts are in tune with the mind causing us to walk more steadily in our beliefs.  In this situation, we must walk in the belief and knowledge that God was the one who enabled and gave the power unto Jesus to be returned from the dead and not man.  Note in that belief and think that just a few days before the trials of Jesus and his death, He raised a man from the dead (Lazurus), And if God provided the power of raising Jesus from the grave, then Jesus was and is more than man!  No matter who you are or what walk in life you come from, the salvation as given and offered by Jesus is yours.  It is not for a select group of people, but you become part of a select group!  Any one can be saved!  Are you?  If not, or if you are not sure of your relationship with Christ today, please, pray this prayer.....

Jesus, I belive that you are the living Son of God, that you came to this earth as a man, to walk among us, and to offer to us redemption for our sins.  I believe that you were raised from among the dead to again walk among the living by God the creator.  I ask you Jesus to come into my heart and be a part of me and my life, that I may be a part of you.  I ask you to forgive me of my sins and to allow me to start fresh, guiding me, and walking with me that I may dwell in the presence of the Father as intended from the beginning.  Help me when I fall to know that you are there.  I ask you this with belief and trust that you will do as your word promises.  According to your words, and my belief on those words do I ask these things.

If you have prayed this prayer, please let us know it, after all it is part of confessing your belief and your faith.  Share it not only with us, but others as well.
