A popular phrase among Christians is "God's got this", "God will handle it”. Sure, you’ve heard that, and maybe even said it, especially when someone comes to you as a believer and ask for prayerful assistance.  We quickly rise up and say “yes sir brother!” and pray a quick powerful prayer of affirmation and agreement.  Then at the end of the prayer, look them in the eyes saying “God’s Got This!” sending them on their way.

I thought about Moses. Here he was at the edge of the Red Sea with the Egyptian army behind him. What if Moses had stood up in front of his people and said, "God's got this"?  But he didn't... he sought GOD, God told him what to do, and he did it.

What about Joshua? What if he looked at Jericho and said "God's got this." and then waited? Those walls never would have come down!  Yet, he listened to God’s messenger and moved forward toward victory.

Today... we have become accustomed to saying, “Gods' Got This”, then when nothing happens, quickly we respond with, “well... he must have had other plans for it/you in the first place.... so, let me encourage you brother to just keep pressing on each day brother until he decides to take us out of here.”  We have become full of anticipation of looking at the signs of the times in a mode of contentment waiting for what some are calling the great escape.... when you are going to find yourself still waiting after it's over!  Don't you think it's time we stop being content with happenings around us, waiting on God to handle it while we do nothing?

We are the caretakers of the land....

What does land have to do with what I am saying?  Well, you first have to know and understand the land.  It is that which is around you.  That which you associate with daily and deal in daily.  When God created the garden... he put man and woman in the garden... they cared for it, they didn't just lay back and do nothing. They were active in what God had put before them.  They did such a good job that daily God came and walked with them in the garden! Don't you imagine they talked, they planned things... God gave them direction? Suddenly, they became content in where they were and just as quickly, they quit caring about the land as much, as their knowledge entered the picture. They listened to the world instead of God...We know what happened with that!

James 2: 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 

15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 

16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 

17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Folks, it's time we ask the God of Moses, the God of Joshua, the one we call our God, what to do and then do it instead of waiting on him to do it for us. He will give us directions... he will give us the plan and we may not like it, but we will be victorious. But it will not happen unless we go to God asking, "What do you want us to do? Give us strength to do it God”, and then do it.

Some say that we take away faith in the power of God by doing things on our own.  First, you are not doing it on your own.  Second, you can’t take anything away from God!  God would not put a person in your path coming to you asking for agreement and direction if you were not capable of seeing it through.  It is through you, your actions, your steps, that God is Glorified.  You fail to allow God to be Glorified through you by your sitting on your “God’s Got This” and doing nothing!

Our country, our morals, our religions, our beliefs have gone to hell. Time to get off your "God's Got This", and start with asking "God, what do you want us to do?", and then go do it saying... "God and me... we're coming through so that HE may be glorified through me!!  Move over world!"
